Sustainable

Big Tree chairs are crafted from Missouri hardwoods that have been sustainably harvested from right-of-way areas such as roadways or around electrical lines. Occasionally we find reclaimed hardwoods such as old oak framing or barn woods.

We chose 100% cotton duck canvas for a solid, durable fabric that won’t contribute to microplastics in the environment.

The chairs are finished wiith a 100% petroleum-free natural tung oil blended with a gentle citrus solvent.  This finish is water-resistant, durable, easy to care for, and smells like just a hint of citrusy goodness!  Cleaning is easy with a damp cloth or soapy water.

We’ll make our tung oil blend available soon for maintenance applications

Durable

We wanted to design and build something that we could be confident tossing into our camper, the trunk of the car, or even on our cargo bikes and not worry about them.  These chairs are rugged and durable.

So far we’ve tested the chairs up to 250lbs with no problems and if stored inside, we think they will last a lifetime.  Plus, if anything should happen to your chair, we have constructed them so that we can replace parts if necessary.

Big Tree Chairs can handle sitting on a variety of surfaces including dirt, grass, sand, gravel, concrete, decks, and porches. 

Comfortable

We found the precise angle for pairing the seat and backs together for the most comfort and ease of use. Good back support, ease of moving in and out of the chair, and a comfortable angle for eating, lounging, and playing music.

Big Tree Chairs are perfect for lakefront sunset watching, campfire sitting, acoustic music making, tailgating, and more! The chairs sit nice a low so they are perfect for sitting upfront at outdoor music and movie festivals without inhibiting anyone else’s view.

Portable

Big Tree Chairs are portable nesting chairs. The seat slides into the back of the chair for convenient packing and straps are available for moving through festivals or for carrying to your favorite sitting spot.
